Directing

Starting as a screenwriter originally, I have now been directing for over 14 years starting on shorts, then music promos, commissioned content, leading to my feature music documentary ‘SOUTH COAST’. The film explored how something as American as hip hop finally found an authentically British voice in the most unlikely of places. The film secured distribution, various Film Festival selections and awards and was described by The Daily Telegraph as “Joyful and laid back” and achieved “8/10 A Gem” in Clash Music Magazine.

My short film ‘MAN IN FEAR’ premiered at the BFI London Film Festival, before going on to be selected for numerous festivals and be selected for the New British Cinema Quarterly, securing a theatrical and DVD release. It is a film about Conceptual Artists creating Accidents as Art and was described by The Guardian as “William Jewell’s teasing, stylish feature in waiting”

I have recently completed my largest project to date - the Neo Noir thriller feature ‘CONCRETE PLANS’. The film was backed by Film Wales and is about a group of misfit builders on a remote renovation job who get ripped off by the aristocratic homeowner. It is positioned as a social realist thriller, but is shot through with political and social undertones as I framed it as a  State of The Nation snapshot of these divided and turbulent times. The film was scored by Paul Hartnoll of Orbital and will be released in the UK in early 2021 and has just been launched in the US.

The film has been described as:

“One of the most Exciting British Thrillers in years” - The Hollywood News.

“A Refreshing Surprise” - Movie Ramblings

“Couldn’t Feel Any More Relevant” - Nerdly

“Uniformly Excellent Performances” - Electric Shadows

“A Remarkably Accomplished Debut” - Starburst

Above are a selection of projects divided by DRAMA, DOCUMENTARY & PROMO, COMEDY
